Mission Public School District is located on the Traditional, Ancestral, Unsurrendered,
and Shared territories of Stó:lō people, of Leq'á:mel, Semá:th, Máthxwi, Sq'éwlets and
Qwó:ltl'el First Nations, stewards of this land since time immemorial.

Halq'eméylem is the language of this land and of Stó:lō ancestors. The place from
where Halq’eméylem (Upriver dialect) originates is Leq’á:mel. The language comes from
the land, and it has been this way since time immemorial.

We provide a wide range of programs and services to meet the diverse needs and interests of our students. The staff and students believe strongly that when students come together from other parts of the world, they learn from each other and everyone’s learning experience increases.

Homestay Program

Staying with a Canadian family is an enriching cultural experience and is an important component of our program. One of the reasons for success in the program is that the English instruction received in our schools is reinforced by the English immersion environment in which the student lives.

Mission School District arranges homestays in private Mission homes that have been carefully screened and are monitored. Students will be provided with secure, comfortable and welcoming accommodation while studying in Mission.
